POWERFUL Arsenal Yellow ran out 5-2 victors against St Christopher's Intermediate in an intensive game the side dominated with clever ball control and slick finishing.

Hotshot midfielder and senior coach Deena Rahman notched another hat-trick in what turned out to be a pulsating performance by the former England international.

The Yellow's striker Tamara Kawash opened the scoring with a deflected shot and the lead was doubled by a strong shot by Rahman.

Kawash then grabbed her second goal with a low drive into the corner of St Christopher's net. The young St Chris girls pulled one back with an excellent effort by striker Melinda Legg. Rahman then notched two more goals before St Christopher's pulled one back thanks to striker Laura Henson.

The second match of the evening featured Desert Divas against Arsenal Red. Divas captain Shauna Nearing Loej opened the scoring in the first half and forward Amanda Hadgiannis tied up the match in the second half with a classy finish.

Divas team manager Patti Giaschi said: "It was a tough physical game for both of teams but we were able to hold them off. It was a very good match - both teams played very well."

The seven-a-side Arsenal Soccer School Ladies League takes place at the Batelco Sports Ground in Hamala every Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm with sides competing for the coveted GulfWeekly Premiership Trophy. Earlier this week Joga Bonito played Arsenal Red and Desert Divas took on Arsenal Yellow.
