Sizzling additions to range unveiled

THE stunning new Porsche Cayman and Cayman S, boasting sleeker curves and more power for thrill-seekers, have been unveiled by Behbehani Brothers’ Porsche Centre Bahrain at a glitzy affair at the Gulf Hotel.

The elegant event attracted more than 600 VIPs, Porsche enthusiasts and invited guests all eager to get a glimpse of the sizzling sports duo.

Guests were entertained with a mesmerising performance by a cello player and videos projected onto the stage, before Lee Newton, marketing director at Porsche Middle East and Africa, drove into the hall in his captivating Cayman behind a city landscape backdrop projected on the stage.

The third generation two-seater has been completely redeveloped into a lower, longer, lighter, faster, more efficient and powerful vehicle.

Its makers say that its longer wheelbase, wider track and larger wheels will enhance the car’s driving performance.

Powered by a 2.7-litre flat-six cylinder engine, the Cayman produces 275 horsepower and accelerates from zero to 100kmph in 5.4 seconds as well as reaches a top speed of 266 km/h. As for its bigger sibling, the Cayman S, it makes use of a 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six cylinder engine for an output of 325 horsepower. Acceleration time from a standstill to 100 km/h time is 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 283 km/h. The fuel consumption value is 8.0 l/100 km with PDK.

The basic retail price for the new Porsche Cayman is BD20,800 and BD23,500 for the new Cayman S.
