The Bahrain team of Saqer Al Noaimi, Mohamed Al Noaimi, Sultan Al Hakam and Hamad Mubarak clinched top place in the Royal Golf Club’s inaugural Christmas Open golf tournament with a nett score of 56.9 points.
The mixed members and staff team of Jason Mejia, Jamie Skinner, Matt Doyle and Chris McDonnell took second place on nett 57.4 while husband and wife Larry and Wanda Connor and their playing partners Bryan Buchta and Andy Nelson came third with a nett 60.8.
More than 70 competitors took part in the Texas Scramble competition which was played on the club’s Montgomerie championship course. The winners’ prizes were sponsored by Coca-Cola while side contest prizes were sponsored by BMMI.
“We are very pleased with the success of our maiden Christmas Open event,” said Jason Mejia, the club’s tournament co-ordinator.
“Our thanks go to Coca-Cola and BMMI for their generous support and congratulations to all the prize winners.”
Additional prizes were awarded for the best dressed festive team of Shaker Hubail, Abdulla Al Hakam and 2013 club captains Ebrahim Esbai and Hanne Hansen.
