Abdulla Ali, astride Ghoroob, won in style the first novice class for juniors in the 9th BREEF Show Jumping Championship. In the one round with jump-off event Kate Addison took the runner-up position, riding The Chief. She also took fourth spot on Westwind. In third place was Nedhal A Nabi on Lucito Fool.
Class two, an intermediate junior class, was an accumulator with the joker standing at an imposing 120cm.
Addison took first place following a superb round with The Chief in a very fast time. Ahmed Essa, riding Osina took second place, with Nabi, again on Lucito Fool, this time taking third.
Promising Aimee Keen with DJ Fleur came fourth – the top four completed the course clearing the joker with no faults.
The first adult event was a novice class one round with jump-off and Basil Al Dossri bagged the first of his glorious double for the day on Dilmun Dory, pipping Ali Essa riding Alaska in the jump-off. Elyas Mohammed took third place with Ghayth.
Only two riders went clear in the intermediate class for adults gaining an optimum 44 points. Ahmed Akbar rode an excellent round and close on his hooves came Muslim Ali riding his lovely mare Emily. Sayed Mohammed Khalaf clinched third place.
In the final Grand Prix class, Al Dossari was back on the podium, this time with Dilmun Airforce One. They were the only ones clear in the first round to claim the top prize. F16, this time ridden by Ali Essa, took runners-up position and third was Eyad Ahmed on Barelo.

* On Friday afternoon, horses and jockeys strived to win two of the richest and most prestigious races in the racing calendar, namely the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cups. Favourite Rainbow Rock won the race for imported horses, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Duaij bin Salman Al Khalifa, trained by Sami Saloon and ridden by P Convertino. For local bred horses it was an outsider who romped to victory. Methary, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, took the title.

The Muharraq Riding School organised a spectacular beach ride on Friday afternoon at Karbabad near Seef. Horses and riders in traditional Arabian costume galloped along the beach and in the sea. The beautifully adorned horses and riders could be seen for miles.

* Twin Palms Riding Centre will today be running an in-house show jumping course building seminar and a in-house show jumping will be staged tomorrow. * Horse Racing is held at Sheikh Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club every Friday starting at 2pm. Entrance will be free and there will be entertainment and attractions for all the family.
