The BSPCA Dog Walk entitled ‘Strut your Mutt!’ will be held on Friday at the Animal Welfare Centre (AWC) in Askar.

This year’s event will be extra special as all former BSPCA shelter dogs are invited to return to their roots for a reunion as well as to join in the fun of the walk and meet old and new friends!

It costs BD10 to participate and register your dog. If you don’t have your own, you can rent one of our pooches by calling the AWC on 17591231 … but don’t hang around as they do get booked up very quickly!

On the day, the registration desk will open at 9.30am and the walk itself will begin at 10.30am, with a 2km walk for the younger children and 4km for older kids and adults.

There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the most sponsorship raised, with a fantastic bike for the winner, donated by those generous people at Skate Shack!

Remember, this is NOT a race, so returning back to the AWC in double quick time won’t win you anything – it’s the most sponsorship money that wins a prize. So take a nice leisurely stroll and enjoy strutting your mutt!

Full information and a sponsorship form is available to download from our Facebook page, our website www.bspca.org or by emailing us at bspca@batelco.com.bh.

We anticipate that there will be some hot and thirsty dogs after the walk so we have lots of cooling paddle pools for your fur-babies to jump into and also a Hot Dog BBQ for the humans to dip into!

Fabulous items including home-made dog biscuits and other lovely craft items will be on sale as well as a fantastic raffle with some amazing prizes on offer.

Come and take a ‘selfie’ of yourself and your mutt on our BSPCA Instagram photo-booth. There will be a competition on Facebook for the best photo sent in and the winner will feature in our 2017 Calendar.

And remember, all visitors registering their dog will receive a free doggy bag of goodies.

Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain (ASSB) is proud to announce an initiative to encourage young players to donate football boots they may have outgrown.

Boots Drive encourages them to bring along their old boots to coaching sessions and place them in special boxes.

The campaign’s aim is to encourage youngsters to think of others who are less fortunate than themselves and to strengthen the social solidarity among our beloved Bahrain community.

Providing children with the opportunity to donate and give to others, in our opinion, helps them to develop decision-making skills, boosts self-confidence, and, in addition, paves the road to creating better citizens.

For more information and to register on ASSB’s different programmes for boys and girls between four to 18, and women, visit the school’s website on www.arsenalschoolbahrain.com, call us on 39911615, 17561615 or send an email to info@arsenalschoolbahrain.com
