Gulf Weekly Brightmore-Bowen off to fine start

More than 35 players took part in the Rainbow Challenge tournament at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) which was won by the pairing of Mike Brightmore and Jamie Bowen with a score of 26 points.

It was the opening event of a new six-week Monday Madness Night Golf Series, sponsored once again by Porsche Centre Bahrain.

Alistair and Paul Rushton clinched second place with 22 points on countback while the duo of Debbie Lane and Dagfrid Berge took third place with the same score.

The winners top the series leaderboard with five points, the Rushtons have four points and the third-placed ladies have three.

Sohail Singh, the club’s tournament coordinator, presented the prizes on behalf of Porsche Centre Bahrain in the Members’ Lounge.

The series takes place at the RGC every Monday evening. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
