Awali Golf Club’s first medal competition of the season was sponsored by Al Haddad Motors … with a hole-in-one prize of a new Mercedes-Benz A250 Sport on offer for anyone achieving this elusive feat on Hole 8.

A great day of golf was had by many, with competitors claiming an array of prizes, Peter O’Brien, Abdulla Al Hajji and Jac Parker all nearest the pin on holes 6,14 and 4 respectively but, unfortunately, no one was lucky enough to win the car.

Overall winner, Nicky Park was triumphant with a superb performance of gross 89, net 61, earning her a 3 shot handicap cut into the bargain.

She jokingly mentioned that perhaps her success was due to the 18 holes of golf played earlier in the day at a charity event.

Runner-up Essa Al Qutami, with gross 68, net 63, lost on count back to Medal Winner Diab S Al Noaimi with a score of gross 68, net 65. The clubhouse was full to capacity for the prize-giving later in the day.

BD200 was raised for disadvantaged children in Bahrain when a signed T-shirt by F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, donated by Al Haddad, auctioned for charity.
