THREE top magicians will be aiming to leave the audience spellbound at the Dilmun Club on Friday evening with mesmerising tricks and card-conjuring charisma.
Joshua Jay, one of the US top performers, who has entertained presidents and movie stars, will be joining Nabeel Bera, the Bahrain-based magician, mind reader and psychic entertainer, on stage, alongside Badru the Second, a sensational act travelling from across the Saudi causeway.
Stephen Chartres, the expat club’s general manager, said: “We are always looking for new and varied events at the Dilmun Club for our members and guests. We already have a great relationship with Nabeel and it’s really exciting to get the opportunity to bring someone with the reputation of Joshua to our venue, as well as new talent Badru.”
Joshua has performed at countless exclusive New York City and worldwide functions. Recent events include parties for Google, Yahoo, AIG, Chase and the President’s Inaugural Ball.
He is being flown over again for a private party in the kingdom and agreed to set aside the Dilly date before flying home.
The 31-year-old has been called magic’s ‘Renaissance Man’ by MAGIC magazine. He has performed in 50 countries and appears regularly on US television, most recently on Good Morning America and the Today Show.
He performs with ordinary, borrowed objects, causing them to twist, bend, blow up in flames, appear and vanish at will. At only 17 he was crowned world champion for close-up magic at the World Magic Seminar and he is now regarded as one of the leading creative forces.
Nabeel has a glowing reputation too and is busy entertaining folk across the island. Only last weekend he was performing close up tricks to a stunned audience at a store opening at City Centre Bahrain.
He has been trained by master magicians like David Copperfield, Mac King and Jeff McBride in Las Vegas and gone on to perform for royal families and diplomats across the Middle East and Europe.
Badru the Second has been described as a ‘new and up-coming talent’ and a name to watch out for.
