An audition to an upcoming B-Movie: Golfing in Jurassic Park, was held at Awali Golf Club on Saturday, and a field of creaking bones staggered around the course under the more polite banner of the Seniors Championship, a competition open only to those that had entered their sixth decade. This, therefore, meant nearly all the club’s handicapped members were eligible!
Sam Jong Kim and playing partner Rajinder Sachdeva won the opening match of the new BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) with a nett score of 34.3.
Peter O’Brien maintained his cool to overcome high winds and lower than normal temperatures to win the Airmech Medal competition, hosted by Awali Golf Club, on Friday.
Haitham Haji comfortably won the inaugural competition of the FootJoy Monday Stableford Series at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 34 points. Sam Hobday was runner-up with 31 points and Dagfrid Berge came a close third with 30 points. The win puts Haji at the top of the series leaderboard.
Golf is one of those unique ball sports where one has a lot of time to think about the shot in hand, due to the ball being stationary.
