Gulf Weekly Charlton wins Energade match

Clive Charlton narrowly clinched first place in this week’s Energade Summer Series match at Riffa Golf Club with a net score of 36.

Close behind was Linda Simpson with net 37 on count back while Todd Gillespie had to settle for third place, also with net 37.
Daniel Thain, Gulf Cellar’s marketing and events manager and sponsor of the series, won a prize for coming nearest to the pin on the 7th hole while Chang Han Oh achieved the longest drive on the 3rd.
Gulf Cellar and Energade recently announced that they would sponsor the 6-week long series of night golf competitions, each of which will be held in a different format.
This week’s match was played in the individual strokeplay format under the title “Green Keeper’s Revenge,” whereby the pin flag on each green is placed in the most difficult position possible.
Gents played off the blue tees and ladies off the reds.
The third match in the series will be held this and will be held in the foursomes format.
