University laying solid foundation

The University College of Bahrain (UCB) is set to begin its seventh year.

In its last six years, it has achieved a solid foundation for delivering quality education in specialist professional fields in accordance with the needs of the Gulf region.

UCB is a non-profit business management university, which educates students and generates new knowledge to the regional community.

Its programmes excel in creativity, the intellectual dynamics of business and liberal arts and they are dedicated to quality education benchmarked against international standards and linked to the needs of the region.

UCB is accredited and licensed by Bahrain's Education Ministry and receives academic consulting support from the regional external programmes in the American University of Beirut in curricular design, policies and quality control.

The university is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and has a memorandum of understanding established with the Dalhousie University in Canada and the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

More than 150 students graduated at a ceremony held under the patronage of Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi. Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa attended.

The students achieved bachelor degrees in business administration, information technology, multi-media and communications and master's degrees in business administration in banking and finance, Islamic finance, information technology, management and marketing.
