'Six Foot Two, Eyes are Blue, Stevie Wicks is after you!' Any fan old enough to remember QPR in the 1980s will recall that song and that player.
Wicks, 53, came through the ranks to play for Chelsea before going on to represent Derby County, QPR and Crystal Palace.
The imposing centre back made his debut for the Blues at the age of 19 but, while with Chelsea, he used to attend QPR matches as a paying supporter. Unsurprisingly, he jumped at the chance to join the Hoops following eight months at Derby.
Steve was part of the successful QPR side which won the Second Division Championship in 1983, although he was cruelly cup-tied in 1986 when Rangers played Oxford United at Wembley Stadium in the Milk Cup Final.
Steve later experienced management with Scarborough, Lincoln City and Crawley Town, as well as Malaysian side Selangor FA. He insists QPR will always be his club because of the fantastic relationship he enjoyed with the supporters.
Ryan, 39, is a First Team Coach at QPR. He was promoted from his Youth Team role by in-coming R's boss Jim Magilton.
As a player, the man nicknamed 'Rhino' began his career at Berkhamsted Town but it was with Wycombe Wanderers that he made his name as a no-nonsense defender. He made more than 400 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals in the process. His most memorable effort came in the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Villa Park in 2001, a match Wycombe lost 2-1.
After enjoying a coaching role at Adams Park following his retirement from the game in 2006, 'Rhino' joined QPR to assist the development of their younger players.
He now plays a pivotal role in first-team affairs, aiding Magilton and his assistant, John Gorman.
The three keen amateur golfers will be accompanied on the trip by Paul Morrissey, the football club's new media manager who will co-ordinate the players' appearances while in Bahrain and arrange press interviews with various local and regional media.
QPR First Team manager Jim Magilton said: "The support of Gulf Air has been so important to the club and I'm delighted that we've been given the opportunity to send out some QPR representatives for this week's competition at the Royal Golf Club.
"I have played a few rounds with Keith Ryan over the past couple of months and I just hope he does us proud out there and doesn't crack under the pressure!
"One of Marc Bircham's great strengths as a player was to get under the skin of his opponents but I've had a word with him to make sure he concentrates on his own game on the golf course!
"On a serious note, this is a great opportunity for us to grow our relationship with not only Gulf Air but also the football fans in Bahrain, and I wish the competition every success."
Golfers registered to take part in the tournament are invited to attend a special auction night being held at the club tonight where they will have the opportunity to bid for their favourite pro to lead their team. Part of the money raised at the auction will be used to help promote the sport amongst Bahraini youngsters while the rest will be shared amongst the four top-placed pros.
