The kingdom’s international airport is planning to pull out all the stops and sell its future expansion plans to a world-wide audience as excitement grows over the biggest aviation event ever to be staged in the skies over Bahrain.
Bahrain Airport Company, a Mumtalakat flagship holding, is at the forefront of participating in Bahrain International Airshow 2010, due to be held in Sakhir from January 21-23.
“We are pleased to be participating in this major launch event, as it forms part of our plans for the future of Bahrain International Airport and the national aviation industry as a whole,” said Dr Osama Al Ali, CEO of Bahrain Airport Company.
“BIAS 2010 is set to be a huge milestone for Bahrain, boasting a host of participants including Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Rolls-Royce.

The company is responsible for managing and operating Bahrain International Airport and plans to improve its infrastructure and financial performance and make it a major contributor to the economy.
Plans include building extra capacity and the utilisation of state-of-the-art information and communication technology. Additional facilities for VIPs, a new general aviation terminal, new commercial facilities, as well as hotels, conference centres, retail and recreational facilities will also be provided.
