Musical sensation Les Miserables will be held from December 6 to 9 at the St Christopher's Junior School in Saar. One of the longest-running shows in the West End and on Broadway, it celebrates its 25th year in 2010 and St Christopher's School has secured the rights to present the first production in Bahrain.

The plot follows the story of Jean Valjean (played by Y13 student Kanaan Abu Khadra) and his conflict with Inspector Javert (played by Akram Wahab). Set in and around Paris in the 19th Century it is set against a backdrop of revolution in France. Victor Hugo's novel was set to music by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil and has been performed over 10,000 times in London's West End.
