Work on your technique during practice sessions

When you go out to practice on the court always practice with an objective.

You may have learned many techniques from your coach or friends, but be sure to work on one new technique at a time. Once you become more comfortable with one or two techniques you can then learn to practice more at one time with ease.

Give yourself some feedback after each shot. Evaluate what you've done right and wrong. If it was good, give yourself credit. If what you did was wrong think about what you need to do to fix it.

Notice the degree of your errors.

Practice is all about quality, not the quantity of balls hit. All progress and learning begins with experimentation. Try out new things, you never know what new shot you may come up with.

When rallying with someone always keep the ball out of the net. Direct your shots to the back of the court and pick a target.

If the person is better than you just try and get it back into play with high defensive shots down the middle.

Stick to your objectives and don't let them intimidate you. If the person is at the same level you can work on the same things together and learn from each other.

If the person is not as good as you be gentle with them, try and work on your consistency and not smack the ball past them.

This way you can see how consistent and accurate you really are, they will also improve if you do this with them.

Try to encourage them and help promote the sport.

Happy hitting!
