Seef Mall has teamed up with Mums in Bahrain, the first and only parenting portal in the kingdom, to host a series of children's learning workshops to help local and expatriate mothers learn more about parenting and lifestyles in Bahrain.
Additionally, throughout March, Seef Mall will be hosting workshops by Kindermusik, Monkeynastix, Tasneem Photography, Clever Cooks, Silly Billy, Noah's Events, Treasures and My Name Label.
All the workshops are free of charge for participants.
Kindermusik is among the world's leading interactive 'total child' development programmes that uses music to stimulate and enrich learning, development and growth in children ranging from newborns to age seven. The Kindermusik curriculum is continually strengthened and updated by incorporating the latest findings in early childhood research, with special emphasis on music as a powerful stimulant to learning and total development.
The Monkeynastix workshops also feature a creative approach to learning, taking children aged one to eight on a journey of discovery that shapes their body and wires their mind academically and emotionally.
Clever Cooks is a cooking programme for children of all ages. It is aimed at bringing children and families back into the kitchen to explore the creative and fun world of food. Cooking workshops with children cover the key areas of early childhood learning through weight and measures, mixing of different substances and learning more about the environment.
Mums in Bahrain was formed by Claire Willats, 33, from Saar, and Ghada Salem, 32, from Hamala. They both have two-year-old sons and set up the venture in December, 2008.
"We're really excited to host these workshops which we feel will offer great information and advice to parents in the kingdom," said Claire.
The organisation's guiding philosophy is to help expatriate mothers cope with the new country they have moved to and also help local mums cope with expat mothers. The idea is to evolve a middle path that allows local and expat mums to learn from each other and make Bahrain a country where children are raised on a 'local-plus-expat' multicultural basis that allows the new generation to respect each other's traditions and beliefs.
